anyone know how to insert a hidden line projection from a camera or perspective view? it forces me go back to a parallel line projection to insert the block but then uses the current view to create the block..

There are many restrictions to working in perspective views. Most importantly, you cannot pick points, which effectively means that perspective views are useless for constructing a drawing. Usually, a 3D model is built in the standard parallel projection and then DVIEW is used to create a perspective view of that model. But rather like a rendered view, a perspective should be considered just a "snapshot" and not a working environment.
