Lisp for switching multiple layers...?

Bit of an old thread, I too had this problem. I started to learn lisp for this reason. I have a little tool called "xref process" I use it to change

All text colours

All hatch colours

run setbylayer

Set ltscales

set all objects CELTSCALES

Very easy to code saves time. Most of my routine is based around "SSGET" and plain old command "._CHANGE"

exactly my sentiment, I have become my company's CAD janitor, spending hours cleaning up client or other vendor provided cad files with way too many cooks in the stew. Thus ending up with duplicate text styles with different stylenames. if the text were in the open as text or mtext i'd have no problem spending the time with qselect to 'move' them to a single stylename, but these text styles are embedded in block symbol attributes.

Check on Lee Mac's website, he has lots of clever text lisps there, tha dig deep quickly.

I would be surprised if he doesn't have one that will do what you need.

Not to say this is the most appropriate one, though it may well be.

Lots of others, that might be better suited if this doesn't work for you.

Do your homework, and check them out, your time will be well spent,

at the end of the day, the time and aggravation you save will be your own.

Thanks Lee!
