Hi,

As most people know pre 2008 versions of AutoCad can't be installed on Vista, however a few months ago I found a website somewhere which showed get AutoCad 2005 to run. I can't even remember eactly how I worked, it was either tweak to the Regedit or something to do with the properties. Either way I remember that it was very simple and it was'nt a program I had to download or anything like that.

I have since however had to reinstall windows several times all thanks to DELL and now can't find these instructions. I'm not sure where I found it but have a feeling that it may have been on the AutoDesk website.

Please help me find out where this info is...

Thanks heaps for reading!! :) :) :)

DONT WORRY EVERYONE I WORKED IT OUT

I guess i should let you know how though.

Go to your C drive and Program Files.

Then go into your AutoCad 2005 file folder which may be in the AutoDesk folder although myne wasn't.

Find the acad executable file and right click on it.

Select the compatibility tab and check the box 'run this program in compatibilty mode for' and select 'windows xp (service pack 2).

Then select the privilege level as 'run this program as an administrator'.

Now the first time you run the program it will come up saying that there is an error, however all you have do do is select 'don't show this message again' and 'run program' and it works.
