katethegreat
I am trying to change the lineweight and make some dashed lines. I know that you can select lines, right click, to get to the properties bar and do this. That is fine, i have done that before The properties bar like shown below i where I am trying to get to. Now the problem is that I can not get to this properties bar. When i select and rightclick on a line and select Properties on the menu- Nothing happens. Why wont the task bar come up and how do i get it back? screen.pdf
totzky
I'm not sure I understand your problem but heres my try: 1. Format > Linetype... > Load... or 2. LT > Alt + L. After loading your dashed lines you can get back to the properties dialogue box and you can see whatever linetype you have loaded.

dbroada
A long shot but what is PICKFIRST set to?
katethegreat
Pickfirst is at 1. I added a screen shot if that helps?
eldon
Another long shot, but does typing CH on the command line do anything
katethegreat
Ch doesn't do anything
dbroada
Pickfirst is at 1. I added a screen shot if that helps? it looks broken that often happens if PICKFIRST is set to 0 - its the "No Selection" that is the problem. Can you select anything using the buttons on the top right of the Properties palette?
wannabe
Does this occur in every file you open?
totzky
Try to turn on autohide in your taskbar. See if you can see portion of your properties dialogue.
Cad64
Have you used a registry cleaner lately, or does your anti-virus software include registry cleaning as part of it's routine? This is a known problem with Autocad, and once the cleaner has wiped out the registry keys, you will need to run a repair to get it working again. http://autodesk.blogs.com/between_the_lines/2007/08/no-properties-i.html
eldon
I recently changed anti-virus software to *v*st, and I kept on losing my menu, which would not reload. I solved it by rebooting, and all was fine until the next time. I have now uninstalled *v*st and re-installed AVG, and everything seems to be fine again. dbroada
I knew I'd seen this problem before but totally forgot the answer. Even more embarrassing - I'm sure I commented on the last case with something along the lines "I'll try to remember that for next time". Cad64
Well, you know what they say? The mind is the first thing to go. Although, I didn't think of it either, when I saw this question yesterday. It wasn't until I re-read it this morning that the light clicked on. I tried to open some old files that I was using last year and it wasn’t working for those wither. Haven’t used any registry cleaners lately or that I know of, ill have to check my anti virus software.
