Does anyone know the system variable on AutoCAD200 that controls the display of lines around a curve when you "hide" a 3D solid?????

Er... good question. None of the display parameters from the Options dialogue seem to have any effect at all.

Why not simply use one if the Shade options rather than use the old Hide command?

    Try...
    DISPSILH
from AutoCAD itself: Controls display of silhouette curves of solid objects in   Wireframe mode. Also controls whether mesh is drawn or suppressed when a solid object is hidden

It toggles on and off  (0=off & 1=on)
    See if this helps.

Here it is with the toggle set to 0

Now here it is set to 1

Well done F700es, DISPSILH proved to be the one I was looking for. If you set the variable to (1) then the it will remove the lines showing the progression of the curve and instead show only the start and end of the curve.

In answer to the question from CADTutor, I needed to print a simple line drawing to fax to a customer and so shade and render were no good.

Thanks. Glad it helped. I never knew of that varible until I saw it in a Cadalyst article (www.cadalyst.com) in their Jan. 2002 edition. IMHO a very nice monthly CAD magazine. Cheers all.
