jimmib
I am trying to open a drawing that was created in Acad 2006 in SW 2004. I get a warning that files created in version 12 or older are not compatible. Then a box comes up telling me that this is an invalid or incomplete file and SW will not open it. The file is saved as Acad 2004. I also tried with a DXF file and same happens. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks, Jim
shift1313
does SW04 have a dwg translator? ive only dealt with 08 and 09 and they have a dwg editor/translator. Is the file something you could upload or send me and ill see if i can open it in 09 tomorrow if you like.
jimmib
shift1313, Yes SW 2004 does have a translator. I searched in the help files and I had to change the dwg format to Acad 2000 for it to open in SW. Seems odd, but it worked. Thanks for your help. shift1313
in SW 08 and 09 it will bring a new file in so it must have just been a conflict. Good to know and glad you worked it out.
