DidzisK
I was really hopping that someone can help me with this one... I have two shapes as closed polylines and would like to loft them together with given path as 3d polyline...is it possible? DWG and example images both attached...your advice is very appreciated LOFT_RULED PATH.dwg
ReMark
Why are you calling it a ruled path? Wouldn't this work using the PATH option of the LOFT command?
JD Mather
What are you trying to model? Your logic appears to be flawed on several counts. The profiles are not perpendicular to the path. The path needs to be smooth (tangent transitions) or done as series of lofts (or sweeps or extrudes with taper). The path (I'll call it a rail since it isn't in the center) connects opposite sides of the profiles which would cause 180° twist if it could be used. Maybe more of a description of what you are trying to model and even better yet a picture of something similar that already exists.
