soulreapor
Hi guys, I was wondering how you can upload a jpeg image onto autocad so i can trace this image. http://thecontaminated.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/02/one-wheeled-motorcycle-3.jpg Also, any advice on the easier way to get a drawing for that image besides tracing? Thx for the help. I appreciate it a lot.
papagyi
You can type "imageattach" and select your jpg and open. Then you can place anywhere in acad model space. Then you can trace as you like!:)
AlinOz
Here's an even better option if it's a Line drawing and you can get your hands on/ convert it to a PDF. I note you have AutoCAD 2009 - if you have taken out the subscription as well, you can pick up Bonus Pack 2. This gives you the ability to add the PDF as a background (like an XREF) and be able snap to points on the PDF. Now that's handy!!! Even gives you controls over the PDF output eliminating the need for a third party PDF writer. This even allows you to plot with Layers (just like Adobe)... James Burke
I do lots of stuff like this. I like to set up a new layer and copy / paste to that layer. I use another layer for drawing with a line color that contrasts well. The ability to shut off the image layer makes it easy to see your progress.
