I am using Autocad 2000 on a fast machine. The problem is the copy to clipboard function. It is slow on some files and very fast on others. for example: If I take a good sized file that copies and pastes very quickly, then paste a small bit of text and/or line from a slow file into the drawing of the fast file, the fast file will never copy fast again. We all know time is money! The two files have all the same SETVAR settings and other settings as far as I can tell. What settings are being changed? What is changing and how do I change it back to speed up the copy to clipboard function again?
I would really appretiate any help!!![]()

Definitely Purge all and....
Copy with basepoint in Autocad.
At least from my experience.
Seems to be a little more friendly when you plop in blocks etc.
(Not sure why?)

I followed the Purge link to the other Thread and used the described code in all of my slow files. This worked beautifuly. Copy and paste is now faster than ever. Thank you so much for the help. No more waiting around, time to get to work!![]()
