    when i use the standard style i can edit the height of the text but as soon as i make my own style (everything stays the same as standard apart from fonts and arrows) but the new style wont let me change the text height.

    I'm using AutoCAD 2006 and at a dead end ive try every thing i know

    help please

    If the text style you're using in the dimension style has a fixed (non-zero) height, you won't be able to change the heigh with the dimension style manager.

    Just leave the height of the text style to zero.
