    Hello Everyone
I am creating 2d landscape drawings and would like to know how to get
more realistic materials onto the drawing. Water, grass, etc.
I know how to create materials in Photoshop and bring them into Autocad
but I'm not doing 3D or rendering.
Can I create realistic hatch patterns?
    I have Autocad 2002
    Thanks Very Much
    Valerie

Well it would be easier to do it with a newer version of Acad, say r2004 and above as they have gradient fill hatches but there are ways.

    1. Use the "SuperHatch" command in the Express Tools to use raster files (.jpgs and such) as hatch patterns.

    2. Why not just export your CAD file into PhotoShop and "jazz" it up in there?

    I don't think I have superhatch. or I just can't find it.
I have done the AutoCad to Photoshop tutorial. In the tutorial there are
three ways to bring in the drawing. But each way I do it my lines and text
are all distorted and fuzzy. How do I keep my Cad lines intact in Photoshop.
    Thanks Againl

the best way I've found to keep my lines crisp from AutoCAD to Photoshop is to use Illustrator in between -Illustrator keeps the lines in vector form rather than rasterizing it like Photoshop does. I open the *.dwg file in Illustrator to scale the drawing to the paper size I want the final drawing to be and get the line weights to where I like them. Then I save the file as an *.ai file. Next, I open it in photoshop. When you open it, it will rasterize and ask you size and dpi I usually set the size the same as it was in Illustrator and the dpi to something pretty high (400-600 dpi depending on the size). When it's done, you have a drawing with very crisp lines. I add text and color in Photoshop.
