Sorry for being a bit dense,
do you mean save the whole drawing as
ACAD.DWT
and if so what is the extension - DWT?
and do i need to specify where it is saved?

Also just a quick question is it the same method if i use acad 2000 lt?

When you fire-up your AutoCAD, it opens acad.dwt file. .dwt is the extension of all your template files in Acad/Support folder. If you make changes to any of them they remain dwt files with changes you made. Whe you do your work, then you can save it as drawing file (.dwg) with the name you give it to and the original .dwt file remains untouched.
When it comes to 2000LT, I have no idea what it can or can't do. Check your help files there.

Thanks for the info.
I opened my cad and loaded the linetypes but when I pressed save it is asking "save drawing as"
I type in acad.dwt after changing to the template extention.
It then comes up with "Template description"
and has the following:-
Normal international (metric) drawing template. Uses Color Dependent Plot Styles.
Do I need to do something with this or do I click ok?
Sorry to drag this out but I would rather completely understand it than mess it up.

When you are saving your new setup, you should open the menu "Files of type" and click on "Drawing templates" (at the bottom of the "Save as" page) then you'll see all the templates available to you. Chose acad and click on 'save'. It'll then ask you if you want to overwrite the existing file. Click on yes and you are done

As always
