    Default Road Profile

I am trying to make a road profile, and it works ok, except when i process the road design it is adding more fill than what is desired. I have tried moving the centerline, and tried changing the road template, both to no avail. It works well except for one section, which is just getting more dirt than is neccessary. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This sounds more like a design question?.....

To reduce the amount of fill, at one location, you'd have to put a big dip in the road, which is unpleasant for drivers. You could or use retaining walls to contain the fill, but that might be more costly. You could lower a longer stretch of the road, which would reduce fill there and elsewhere (or increase cut, depending on the topography).

After many tries, I figured out that my boss was telling me to do the impossible. He wanted me to put a 2:1 slope when a .5:1 still wouldn't make it to the right spot. I have since told another engineer, and my boss, that they should be paying me a lot more if they expect me to do all the REAL engineering, and sweep up after their mistakes. Anyways, thanks for your help. Oh yeah, I did have to fenagle the road down to an acceptable elevation for grade.
