Text following the curve line

Hello!

Is it possible for text somehow to folow the curved line?

See picture.

I used the multiline text option and then I rotated the text to be near the dimension line. What I want to do is to write the text and to be perfectly alinged with the curved line. So the text would be "curved"

Thanx in advance

Ok then, what version of AutoCAD are you using ? Do you have Express Tools loaded ?

See also the similar threads section further down this page.

Autocad 2006.

do you have express tools installed?

a harder way is to do a divide or measure using one letter and then editing each letter once placed along that curve. You familiar with those 2 commands?

Yeah I know the measure and divide command...that would be the hard way :-(

Express tools...shpuld they be in the Autodesk directory where Autocad is instaled or...?

How to instal them if I dont have them, and where to find them?

Thanx!

Try typing Expressmenu at the command line. If nothing happens they probably aren't installed; you'll need the installation disc to install them.

You could also create a piece of text, say the letter T and make it a block.

Then use the Divide command with the Block option to distribute the number of letters you need along the curve. Then simply edit the letters as needed.

Arc-Alined Text is available in Express Tools for ACAD 2006.

Load the Express Tools and there you go!

Without reinstalling ACAD is not a problem, load the CD, install Express Tools.

And there you have it.
