Convert jpeg to dwg

Hi,

I am using autocad 2006, and I am having jpeg images from our client. Now my problem is how I convert that jpeg file into dwg file. Please help me out.

I tried a couple and the results are certainly far from stunning.

Converting images and pdf's to CAD can be done however, like Dink's states, "The results are certainly far from stunning."

After conversion, lots of clean-up is in order, then remove the image. Ugly.

if the images are images of original dwg geometry request the original dwg intellectual property from the client (be prepaired to pay a fee).

Isn't this only for PDF?

I don't like jpg to dwg!.....Try to do other ways!

I've put *.jpg images into ACAD, scaled and, draw over the image.

Then delete the image or leave the image in the background.

Not too terrible but, not great either.

If this is a logo or other small part, then just insert it and trace it -or- use a tool like the Image Bind command in ToolPac -- see http://cadpanacea.com/node/65 for even more options.

If this is an entire, complex drawing, then ask the client for a DWG. JPG is already a terrible image format to start with, and trying to do raster to vector will only result in a mess.
