The application is not able to write to the registry when you login as a normal user because you installed it as Administrator.
(In a network environment, Non-Administrative users receive this Windows message).
If you do not want to provide the power user rights to the users, you can add the user to the power user group and login the user (the application will have the registry entries written) and then you can remove the user from the power user group.
(Control panel->administrative tools->computer management->users and groups, You click on power user group and just add the user).
