Two things I've had problems with:

    1. The intersect snap: sometimes it hasn't worked through the OSNAP settings, but will if selected individually (shift+right click = osnap shortcut menu).

    2. are you SURE everything is at z=0?

I've used flatten in the past and have had problems with 3D polylines and also nested blocks? Some stuff like attributes have stayed "up in the air".

Try switching attribute display on, going to a side view and then zoom out and select all to see if anything is still above z=o.

Alternatively isolate the two lines that won't admit they intersect, if they're 3D polylines, select one at a time, open properties and cycle through the vertices to check they are all at z=0.

I don't think flatten works with 3D polys? If dbroada is still keeping an eye on this one perhaps he could confirm?

    cheers

I've had some luck with using Apparent Intersection when Intersection doesn't work, APP for short.

actually it was 13 hours but why let facts get in the way of a nice smug feeling.
