JerryFiedler
Greetings, I am using AutoCad LT 09. I am looking for a way to draw a line from point to point that has a "set back" at each end of the line. The line would look and act like a leader on a dimension but the set back would be at both ends. This is a type of line structural engineers use to draw framing plans where the beams are shown as single lines but stop just short of the line, i.e. beam, they frame into. In other words, the end of the line would still be at the nodes to which it was drawn but the line would appear to be a bit short at each end. Thank you, in advance, to anyone who can shed some light on this. Jerry
ReMark
Sounds like you would have been better off with a steel detailing program.

JerryFiedler
Similar to this. (Just an example because you cant post images) Yes that is exactly what I am looking for. Now, how do I do it? My wife's relatives live in Troon.
stevsmith
***CAN A MODERATOR PLEASE MOVE THIS TO THE LISP SECTION**** To be perfectly honest, you would need a lisp file for this. To create a dynamic block wouldn't really work at all. I am not a lisp man myself, although I am in the process of trying to learn it. It should be relatively straight forward enough for the guys on here, and a moderator should move it soon. I stay just 5 mins down the road from Troon, im from Stevenston. Its amazing the amount of people over the pond have some relations over here. small world eh...
