There are several surfacing tutorials on my site as well.

Matt L doesnt release books every year cause there is no need. The change from 07 to 08 probably wasnt enough to justify the cost. With so many resources out there I imagine book sales arent very high. Matt also has a blog and some online content. He is a great resource for sure and a nice guy.
