    I am trying to emboss text onto the surface of a tapered pipe but it keeps failing because the face is not tangent to the profile plane. Is there a way to do this?

    You should state when you are not using the latest release as otherwise you might get a solution you cannot open.

    Make the workplane tangent to the cone. Depending on design intent you might end up having to do each letter separately.
