    Default Civil Drafting Standards

Hi Folks, as usual need help.
I would like to help bring my company out of the Dark Ages, but need evidence to convince the Engineers. Even though we have CAD 04, we do not use linetypes, lock VP’s, mask or anything really newer since ver. 12. What I am looking for are Civil Drafting Standards, (Stateside, not across the pond with cm & mm and other confusing stuff ). I would like to start the fight with linetypes and if I win that I’ll push farther. I need some black/white proof to support the use of linetypes, instead of coping text and trimming the line all over.
    Thanks All & “Cheers”

You do not use linetypes? Meaning everything you draw is continuous? Do any of your regulatory agencies or clients require linetypes other than continuous? If not, you don't have much of an argument. If so, it looks pretty easy.... :-)
