chris diver
I am having a little troube working on a tutorial using viewports in AutoCAD 2009, and using the View Cube. I am creating view ports as shown in the enclosed file. The view ports in question are "four left" which gives me views from the Front, Top and Right on the left side...with a SE isometric on the right. What I can not understand is why all views show "TOP" on the View Cube?...there would be no problem creating a model as one knows that I am looking at Front, Top and Right Views. I would have thought the View Cube would have been postioned to put me in a frame of mind that I am looking at views that I would expect. However, if a change each view on the left to WCS...the cube rotates to give me a Front, Top and Right view...but the XYZ axis also changes....creating an issue if i try to draw in any of the views ( although there is nothing stoping me creating my own UCS ). Am I missing something obvious here?...as I mentioned before..I could quite easily draw in the initial views created, I just would have thought having created views that would be specificaly giving me a Front, Top and Right...the View Cube would say the same, and also have the XYZ in the right place for drawing. Any links to give a further understanding on the View Cube would be helpful. Thanks.
