Could I point out that you have to have very good eyesight to find the point if you leave those settings as they are. The point is just a tiny dot. :?

Find how to format Point styles, and you will see the point much easier :D

I never use points anyway, I only used that for demo purposes. In fact that is probably only the second time I have ever used it.

Plotting Points and drawing Lines are two different commands.

Start one or the other, and feed in the coordinates as needed at the command line :D

To finish the line command, when the command line wants another coordinate, just press Enter and the command will be ended.

I've tried to feed the coordinates into the command line and it works fine for the first one. It gives me 2 windows for my x and y. Once I've finished that it only now gives me distance and degrees instead of another x and y point.

I don't understand your windows for x and y.

I start the Line command, and the command line says "LINE Specify first point" and then for the next point it says "Specify next point". At each you can type in coordinates or angle and distance or other ways.

What command are you using? and can you post a picture of your screen?

As the dynamic window depends on the crosshair position which is controlled by your mouse, I would say that it is not a very accurate way of working.

Look out for the COMMAND LINE, and type coordinates into that. :D

Screen shot maybe hard.

Here is my command line:

LINE Specify first point:3150704.27, 696953.51

(now it wants me to)

Specify next point or [undo]

(this is where i want to add an additional point of 3150380.25,696827.47)

(Here is where I get a single dynamic input or a double with a one dynamic input wanting a degree.)

I have absolutely no understanding with the Dynamic input, so you will have to wait until someone more up-to-date can put you right.

I don't see why you cannot just type the coordinates after "Specify next point or [undo].

This dynamic input is meant to be an improvement :shock:

Ok, I will send you one. Once I upload it up to google pictures.

Ok, from what you are saying, I believe you are receiving something like this, only allowing a distance input, then prompting for an angle:

From here you have two options, you can either switch off dynamic input, and use the command line (press F12 to do this), or you can switch the dynamic polar input to cartesian, by pressing the UP arrow.

After pressing the UP arrow, you should see something like this:

In my opinion, I find the Dynamic Input gets in the way and clutters the drawing space when you are trying to do something, so I don't use it, but I have provided you with both options :)

Hope this helps,

Lee
