Hi again

I'm at the last stages of a tutorial I'm working through & I've got two more things that I am stuck on.

1.) I cant weld the vertices of the Arc & the Lines.

(Shown here in the tutorial image)

2.) I cant Loft the spline to a shape.

Are the Arc and the Lines separate objects? Make sure you Attach the Arc to the Lines before trying to Weld. You can't Weld two separate objects together. They have to be a part of the same object.

2.) I cant Loft the spline to a shape.

It's hard to tell from the screenshot. Have you created a path and a shape? If so, select the path, click the "Loft" button, click "Get Shape" and then select your Shape. If it's not working, post the file here so I can check it.

Hi CAD64

It's hard to tell from the screenshot. Have you created a path and a shape? If so, select the path, click the "Loft" button, click "Get Shape" and then select your Shape. If it's not working, post the file here so I can check it.

I've selected the the path then clicked the loft button, but the "Get Shape" button is greyed out - why is this?

I don't really know? I've tried several different things but I can't reproduce the problem you are having.

Can you save out a copy of your file and delete everything except the path and the shape and post it here?

Sorry to be a pain but it was the shapes in this file I was have trouble with.

I cant weld the the vertices on the "upside down U-Shape" & then Loft it with the "tiny rectangle"

New File Uploaded Here:

http://www.fileden.com/getfile.php?file_path=http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/3/28/934986/Object.max

* How comes I can't attach my MAX File?

1.) Select the line object that you want to use as a path

2.) In the Modify Panel, get into vertex sub-object mode

3.) Window select the entire shape so that all vertices are selected

4.) Right click and select "Weld Vertices"

5.) Go back to the Modify Panel and get out of vertex sub-object mode

Now you should be able to Loft the shape along the Path.
