    Default vERTICAL TEXTURES

Registered forum members do not see this ad.

    hi,
Ive just started 3d work in Autocad 2002 (used cad it many years). Think ive got the hang of most of it but...

When i attach textures (materials) to a vertical face the texture is very distorted. Any ideas how i can make it look like it should ?

(these are just the standard textures in the autocad render file)

    Thanks alot for any help
    Simon

All I do when I am applying materials to objects is simply select modify on the material I am applying. Select adjust bitmap, make sure the Tile option and fixed scale options are highlighted.

In the scale windows U & V adjust the scale uniformly, until you get the desired effect.

This is how I do it, Might not be the best way but it works for me

I normally fit the material to the object under the MODIFY section.
This works for what i need with wood and fabric textures etc...

Yeah that’s the simplest way tbh, I find that it stretches the image too much and when rendering a Square tile for instance this can cause viewing issues.
But as you said, It's perfect for ununiform scaled textures.
