Shibuboss
Hello every body, Is there any option to convert "Circle" to polyline and give thickness. Usually i draw a circle and use polyline command and use " arc " to give thickness to the circle. I know that it's not the proper way. I want to use this thick circle for making viewport. Please advise. Thanks in advance. Regards_______
NBC
Another way would be to 'place' your circle and ensure it's lineweight (or the layer's lineweight that the circle is on) is set to your desired 'thickness'
Shibuboss
Thanks for your replay NBC Yes i know this method using layer give lineweight. There is no "direct" method? if so please advise.thank you Regards______
eldon
How about using Donut, with the inside and outside diameters chosen to give the desired thickness. A donut is also a polyline.

Shibuboss
Oops.. Elden in layout i can't convert that "DONUT" object to viewport. I have to draw another circle to convert that in to viewport. Regards_______
ReMark
Lisp routine for replacing a circle with a lightweight polyline. Use Pedit to assign thickness. http://www.autocadeverything.com/help/archive/index.php/t-2092.html

ReMark
Why would you need a viewport created with a circle that had thickness?
Shibuboss
Sir thanks for your replay. Whenever i arranged the details in layout with different type viewports.my boss advise me to give a thickness around the detail for easy reference and appearance. In circle viewport it's taking too much time.i thought that for this issue have a solution.that's why i post this thread. Anyway i am much happy with "Donut" command and the "Circle2pline" lisp.same effect in layout.thank you. Regards_______
BILL WILLIAMS
Try dotsoft and circle2pl.vlx
Bobzy20
Create a 4-sided polygon, using the POLYGON command. You can circumscribe or inscribe it. At the prompt for the radius, enter the radius of the circle that you want. Start the PEDIT command, select the polygon, and use the Fit option. Presto! You have a circle. Then use the Width option and specify the width that you want.
