Default Using AutoCAD DWG OLE objects in Word documents.

Ok, we recently did a major upgrade from AutoCAD LT 97 to AutoCAD LT 2006. During this time, I happened to be working on some word documents with AutoCAD dwg's embedded in them. I could go in and just double-click the objects inside of word and it would open AutoCAD and let me edit them. However, when I upgraded to 2006, Windows, in general, stopped recognizing dwg's as a possible OLE object. Apparently, when I uninstalled 97, it removed the association and never put it back with 2006. I had to uninstall 2006 and reinstall 97 so I could edit those embedded dwg's. I ended up saving some of them externally so I could open them up in 2006. I reinstalled 2006, but how do I avoid this problem with all of the other word documents I have with embedded dwg's?

I assume its a registry key issue, but if I go through there and search for OLE or anything similiar, I'd end up finding myself lost in that some 56,000 lines of code! If anyone happens to know the correct fix for this, please tell me! I really don't want to have to uninstall 2006 everytime I have to edit a word document!

I figured out that the Windows Metafile format is a great vector format for drawings... Now I just export the dwg's to wmf and walla! i now have a beautiful "dwg" looking Windows Metafile!!
