I have the following (getstring "mypromp") But when I type what i want at the command line when i am promped it doesn't allow me to type a space Is there a way to allow spaces when typing my string at the command line? LoL I remember this one driving me insane. (getstring T "\nType something: ") Will give you what you need. Also, add the \n to the beginning of your prompt string to ensure it is placed on a new line (must be lowercase). Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Lee Mac Posted September 29, 2009 Share Posted September 29, 2009 Jay, If you use the Visual LISP Editor as provided with AutoCAD to type your code, help is at hand for every AutoLISP function - giving you priceless information on the arguments needed etc. Type VLIDE or VLISP (both do the same) at the command line, and then Go to File > New File. Start typing your LISP there and you will notice the functions turn blue, double-click over these and click on the help icon. The VLIDE can also be used for debugging and checking purposes.
