    Hello.

i am wishing to have white text on a grey background.

i am experiencing a problem where the text shows up black (no major problem as white shows up black on a white background.

however there is a permanent white [text] box around the (black) text.
i have solid hatched the grey area

can you please tell me how to get rid of this

    regards.
    Keith

The effect you are going for is to have the solid hatch fill in and around the letters correct?

Change the colour of the text to be True Color 255,255,255 (RGB).
And remove the textmask/wipeout from the text itself.
Then use TEXTTOFRONT to ensure the text is to the front (funnily enough); or alternatively use DRAWORDER

For those of you who are running a full version of AutoCAD here's another "clunky" way to get the same affect. Use Express Tools Explode Text. The difference between the upper and lower right hand images is the removal of the exploded text.

Hey! I said it was clunky.
