Hello guys, i recently upgraded to Autocad 2010 and max 2010, and now i have a problem i didn't used to have.

When i import a dwg with a 3d model done in autocad into max, it doesn't looks at all like the original, it looks all ragged, how can i fix this?

i'm uploading some png so you can see it for yourselves.

How was the Autocad model created?

Are you sure it's not distorted in any way?

I've never seen Max purposely distort an Imported model like that before. Especially a simple box model like that.

Go back and analyze your CAD model and make sure your geometry is clean.

If you can't figure out what the problem is, upload your CAD file here and I will take a look at it.

It's actually pretty simple the 3d, it's been done completely with extrude because of the simple nature of the model, it's weird, because i didn't used to have this kind of problems with the earlier versions of both programs. I didn't used any of the new mesh features.

When i get home i'll upload the file, it's for college so, any help would be appreaciated.

thx.

sry i only saw this topic today

set the MAXIMUM SURFACE DEVIATION FOR 3D SOLIDS to 0,001 - i think it should solve all the problems of 3d solid models from acad looking jagged and low poly when imported into 3ds max
