Dimension Appearance Changed Unexpectedly

Recently I have encountered an error while dimensioning my shop drawings. What happens is difficult to explain but here it goes:

Until now I have had no trouble dimensioning my drawing. My dimensions match my dimension style settings as they should. Today I continued to dimension my drawing but my settings seemed to have switched unexpectedly. Everything is different with the appearance including arrowhead size, extension length, font type, etc. My previous dimensions have remained the same.

I have attempted to remedy the problem by going into the dimension style manager and modifying the current “standard” style. When I do this, the settings are the same as when I started, but when I close out and dimension something the altered dimension still appears.

The only solution to this problem I have found is to open the properties of the altered dimension and under Misc -> Dim Style scroll to my "standard" setting (the style I have been using the whole time) from "standard$0". I believe “standard$0” has something to do with the problem but this style is not listed in my dimension style manager so I cannot delete or modify. Also I have been copying and pasting landscape drawings into my model space which may be effecting my dimensions

Hopefully someone might know of a solution or command to get me back to normal.

I am an AutoCAD LT 2008 user and have 3+ years of self-taught experience.

This is an example of why users shouldn't use the Standard name for dims, text styles, etc. Create your own name for each of these for better control. Create these in your template and you can drag and drop into existing drawings from DC.

Thanks for the heads up. Next time I will try your suggestion but your reply does not help my current situation. Is there any way I can get my dimension style setting to match with how my dimension actually appears?

I think I did answer your question, but to be more exact...
Create a dim style with your own name and with the settings the way you want them. Select all the dims and set them to the new dim style.

Thank you! Creating my own name worked. I had no idea using "standard" had an effect on my dims, texts, etc. Appreciate the help.
