This is what they are saying:

    Operating system:
Windows XP Pro / Home, Service Pack 1 or 2 operating system with a user interface
Windows XP Tablet PC language that matches the code page of the
Windows 2000, Service Pack 4 AutoCAD language. A code page provides
support for character sets used in different
    languages.
You cannot install AutoCAD if Microsoft
Internet Explorer 6.0 with Service Pack 1 (or
    Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 with
    Service Pack 1 (or later)
    Web browser
later) is not installed on the installation
    workstation. You can download Internet
    Explorer from the Microsoft website:
    http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/
    Processor Pentium III or later
    800 Mhz
    RAM 512 MB (recommended)
    Requires a Windows-supported display
    adapter.
    1024 x 768 VGA with True Color
    (minimum)
    Video
    Hard disk Installation 500 MB
Pointing device Mouse, trackball, or other device
CD-ROM Any speed (for installation only)

    this is what I have:
    Intel Celeron 1700Mhz
    2x256 MB of RAM / 333 Mhz
    Gigabyte 8sq800 motherboard
    40GB harrdrive

    it also works ok with:

900 mhz CPU (doesn't matter if it's intel or amd)
    128 MB of RAM

but... i would recommend to try and get 256 or 512...

    (I am using Acad 2006 )

the faster your system the better it will work of course. lol it does work on 128RAM but once you get into 3d work you really need at least 256, preferably 512 though. try and get as fast a processor as you can 2-3GHz or so. if you want to do any rendering (Viz or 3DMax etc) then youll want to double the RAM at least, and try for at least 3GHz processor as its SERIOUSLY demanding. u dont really need any fantastic graphics card (unless your going to be gaming as well )
