A long, long time ago, in a land far, far away I was taught to use the three vertical lines you see in this drawing as a pipe Union.

Not all can open '09 CAD files, oh well, better luck next time.

We have '07 and '05, I always save to 2000 for clients and/or posting in the forums.

2000 most all can open, see.

Opening the attachment, "Drawing is invalid." Oops, sorry.

I believe the file was saved to 2007 file format.

The symbol was one I'm sure you would recognize (three parallel lines with the center one twice the size of the other two).

Now, that was easy! Jumped to the workstation, laptop only has '05 loaded. Workstations have '07.

Symbol is 'bout easy as they come!

I was originally taught to show unions on all my piping schematics. Then I joined the company I work for now and the Manager of Engineering gave me grief about using them. Now I only draw them on my field sketches.
