Does anyone know where you can download a dwg to pdf software without having to pay for the bloudy thing.

Its seems expensive.

I've been using PDFCreator - and it's free too...

Basically gives you a new printer so you can create PDF's from anything you can print from. Use the custom page settings and you can plot up to (I believe) 200" x 200"

I don't get it. If you need a tool to perform a job, you purchase that tool.

What kind of operation are you employed with that requires you to plot to PDF, yet makes you ask in a forum "how to get this for FREE" because Acrobat is expensive.

Of course there is nothing wrong with finding a free tool that will do the same job, I guess what I don't get is how companies have no problem springing for a $3000 CAD program, but then BALK at a $300 program, which they need just as bad as the CAD program. Why not get IntelliCAD instead of AutoCAD in the first place then....?

Well there are some bosses out there that are a$$-holes. I agree with this too but some employers don't. I had one of these bosses for about a month and a half back in Feb but I soon found something better and left. This guy made no sense what-so-ever! he had no problem with buying Acad but would flip out on new PC prices and support software (Acrobat and such).

First off, Adobe Acrobat is an excellent package with many features. However, when all you need is basic PDF creation there are some equally excellent packages available for free.

I do agree with the a$$hole boss comment - I've had a couple of these in the past, forcing you to make do with whatever they could get cheap or free. But at the same time you have to evaluate what your requirements are and find the most cost effect sollution - many of us work for very small operations and don't have the luxury of simply buying the best (or most expensive) sollution.

I think roberts question could be worded better but you have to admit that is all you're wanting to do is create a pdf then Adobe is an expensive sollution.

Not free but BLOODY CHEAP and thus (as bought) comes with a degree of support/help and they do other stuff. US based pdf995 i belive $10 per license.

I have used this for ages often with better and quicker results over Acrobat and another paid one (cant remember which) we were using.
