Default 1 was not able to be explode?

OK we inserted a 3D block by accident into a drawing. We know you can not explode 3D blocks so we deleted the offending block. But now we can not explode any blocks within any drawing that the offending 3d block was inserted into and deleted. The message "1 was not able to be explode" pops up and that is that. These blocks we are trying to explode are 2d and were previously fine before the dodgy blocks were inserted into the drawings. Also the "xr" and xref manger commands started bringing up the "b" or block command instead of the xref manager window. I reinstalled and the x-ref problem has gone back to normal but the blocks are still comming up with "1 was not able to be explode" when using the stick of dynamite button. HOWEVER if we type in the command "xplode" we are able to chose Explode from the options given and this works!
Can anyone please help as it is driving me insane!
We are running LT2004 with LT extenderV1.9
