drawing cleanup for dxf

I am using Autocad 2005lt and importing drawings from a customer. I am then turning the drawings into dxf's for a machine program. The dxf's look fine on the screen but our machine programmer gets a lot of small items which need to be erased at times. How do I find these details on the drawing, I have been trying the various zoom functions but I am unable to find most of these pieces. Any ideas.

That would depend on what these items are ?
You could try the quick select feature and setting to locate entities whos length is smaller then a specified value....say 5 for example...
