Help with custom linetype

Hi guys...

I am trying to create a linetype with an arrow head. The arrowhead is simply from text "

Descriptive text: ---

Enter linetype pattern (on next line):

A,0.5,["

But I got an error stating "Invalid number or bad continuation."

Please anyone. Help or any either way to create that particular linetype.

Appreciate greatly.

Like this? Constructed using the MKLTYPE command found in Express Tools. Not sure if this command was part of Express Tools for AutoCAD 2004/2005.

I used the example given the OP's original post, and used the following in .lin file, and it worked fine.

*Arrow,arrow <|---
A,0.5,["<|",STANDARD,S=0.1,R=0.0,Y=-0.05],0.5

Thanks guys.

I am using text as I don't know how to create linetype with arrowhead. I am using AutoCAD 2005. Is there any restriction in this version on creating linetype?

Its good to know NBC got it using similar A, statement but why I got "invalid number or bad continuation"

The command is included in AutoCAD '05 if Express Tools was loaded. 8)

If you're just embedding characters into a line type give this a try:

*removedLink* Need to do update to check for invalid characters
