Default Showing enlarged detail of a drawing HELP!!!!!!!!

Registered forum members do not see this ad.

I am a newbie to the AutoCAD. My boss wants me to show an enlarged detail of a drawing next to a drawing. He showed me some drawings he had from earlier....basically, there is a drawing of a wheel, and there is a circular shaped, enlarged part of the drawing next to the drawing.

How can I cut just a part of a drawing and display it next to the drawing in the model space? Can somebody help me please????

    Thanks!

for start, you can create a new viewport in paperspace.

Draw a circle for your enlarged detail.
From the pulldown menus, View > Viewports > Object > (select the circle)... then scale the viewport accordingly.

Or in modelspace VIEW-VIEWPORTS-NEW VIEWPORTS-TW0 now you have 2 viewports in modelspace.

I would do it myself the way JessB said but i threw this in as u did say
    IN MODELSPACE
USING AUTOCAD 2013 AND INVENTOR 2013, ALIAS 2013.

If in doubt scale and don't ask!

definitely do it in paperspace (layout)
Pick the paper size you will print on and make a viewport and set it to the scale at which you want it to print. Then make a smaller viewport where you will have the blow-up.
