ILoveMadoka
Once upon a time in Autocad days of old you could replace a block with another by using the insert oldblock=newblock and your old block would be replaced with the new one. Is that no longer an option? We have a title block (that is a block w/no attributes) that we have made some minor changes to and now I'd like to replace the old version with the new in a directory full of drawings. Any tips on best approach to this besides erase then insert?
ReMark
Sounds like a job for a script file. Have you considered this approach?
ILoveMadoka
Is the oldblock=newblock sequence gone the way of Autoshade?
CarlB
That command should still work to redefine a block. For the newblock you'll probably need to include a path, as in "blokname=path\\blockname.dwg" http://www.ellenfinkelstein.com/autocadtips/AutoCAD_tips_replace_one_block_with_another.html
dbroada
certainly works on 2008, I use it all the time as an alternative I use RENAME to give the block already in the drawing the name of the block you are going to insert and then use the INSERT command and navigate to the replacement block and accept the redefine. I script this sort of change often.
