Default AutoCAD Timesavers - what does it do?

    AutoCAD Timesavers

    1. In OptionsOpen and Save tab, set the "Incremental Save Percentage" to 100. This is the variable ISAVEPERCENT.

    2. In OptionsOpen and Save tab, when saving down to a previous version, clear the checkbox for "Maintain Visual Fidelity for Annotative Objects".

    3. In OptionsSystem tabLayout Regen Options, set it to "Cache Model Tab and Last Layout". This is equivalent to setting the LAYOUTREGENCTL to <1>.

    4. Viewres is a very close relative of Blipmode. Thankfully, Blipmode/On is no longer the default, but not many of us got the memo about Whiparc superseding Viewres. Set WHIPARC to <1> and you won't get hexagons for circles anymore when you zoom in.

    5. In the Workspace Settings dialog box, your system will move quicker if you set it to "Do Not Save Changes To Workspace".

Set this to 0, this was a lame attempt back in R13 (I think) to speed up saves. See Help.

    2. In OptionsOpen and Save tab, when saving down to a previous version, clear the checkbox for "Maintain Visual Fidelity for Annotative Objects".
Use Visual Fidelity if you are having to save down to previous versions, if not then don't use it. See Help.

    3. In OptionsSystem tabLayout Regen Options, set it to "Cache Model Tab and Last Layout". This is equivalent to setting the LAYOUTREGENCTL to <1>.
I always set to Regen when switching. But you should experiment and find what works for you.

    4. Viewres is a very close relative of Blipmode. Thankfully, Blipmode/On is no longer the default, but not many of us got the memo about Whiparc superseding Viewres. Set WHIPARC to <1> and you won't get hexagons for circles anymore when you zoom in.
Viewres is not related to blipmode in any way that I can think of. Set Viewres to the lowest setting you can live with, I get by just fine with 500. Whiparc will cause more problems than it solves, imho. See Help.

    5. In the Workspace Settings dialog box, your system will move quicker if you set it to "Do Not Save Changes To Workspace".
If you are sure you will remember to save when you puposely change something then this is not a problem.
