eldon
I drew it with the 185R to begin with and it did not come out looking like the original image. It was far enough off to be noticeable. Maybe, whoever drew the diagram originally did not have access to AutoCAD It is difficult to know whether there are extra marks for pointing out errors, or whether you get labelled as troublesome. ReMark
It could be the examples were taken from photocopies of other photocopies and the dimensions become obscured so some well-meaning person makes a determination as to what they should be and messes one (or more) up. That's my theory and I'm stickin' to it.
nukecad
Using this method, the arc is designed by the wrong side. edit: Mathematically i think that the problem can not be solved... For consideration I have attached a drawing showing step by step one way of constructing it with the dimensions given. profile.dwg
JD Mather
GeoBuilder: I found that only one radius had to be changed. Dimesions take precedence over the image. I would draw with the dimensions given and then approach the professor for authorization of design change.
