I have trouble with that myself. See if your video card software allows you to make some setting changes that will affect this.

My Nvidia cards has some adjustments but in some cases they don't seem to have an affect.

Same here. AutoCAD will remember the screen coordinates of the dialog when the dialog was last closed.

Out of curiosity, what would happen to those menu's if the 2nd monitor went on the blink?

I would think that the video card would see that the monitor does not have a signal.

I have a laptop docked with two monitors, when it's undocked I just use the single laptop screen. Most, if not all dialogs that were on monitor 2, show on the one screen in undocked mode.

For the occasional dialog that is "off the screen" (on the missing monitor 2), the Nvidia software allows me to move it back to monitor 1.

Life doesn't suck, although we all go through periods when it may be easier to think that, than to discern the solution to whatever problem is the most formidable

thanks to all for information..seems we dont all have the same results. i guess we will have to live with it. my latest info is that some of the dialogue boxes are totally windows based and for the 'basic' user it would be hard to change.
i wonder if there is some difference with anyone using vista ?
    maybe more problems ?
