salmonrose
I'm following Civil 3D 2010 help file on creating a mask and the first step is as following: In Toolspace, on the Prospector tab, expand the surface collection, right-click (sorry, I don't know how to insert the button's picture) Masks, and click Create Mask. My problem is, there is nothing to expend from "Surfaces". When I right click Surfaces, I only have the following options to choose from: Create Surface ... Create Surface From DEM ... Create Surface From TIN ... ------------------------------- Show Preview (this is grey out, ie, I can't even pick this option) ------------------------------- Export to DEM ... Export LandXML ... ------------------------------- Refresh This is my first time learning mask and I am still very new with AutoCAD and Civil 3D. I think I am looking at the wrong tab or something ... Please help. Thanks
lpseifert
You need to create a surface before you can mask it... Expand Surfaces and rt-clk on the surface name (after you create it). If you can't expand Surfaces (no + box) then no surfaces have been created yet.
