does this happen on all files or just the one?

I am trying to do some QA/QC on a file from 2008 saved back to 2004 to send to another firm.
When I open the file in LD2004 and try to use the Properties command on some entities in my file, AutoCAD is telling me:
C:\Program Files\Land Desktop 2004\Acopm.arx cannot find a procedure that it needs.
Unknown command "PROPERTIES". Press F1 for help.
How can I fix this?
TIA
does this happen on all files or just the one?
"The problem is stupidity. I am not saying there should be capital punishment for stupidity, but, why don't we just take the safety labels off of everything and let the problem solve itself? "
I just tried it in Drawing1.dwg
Drew a line, right clicked on it and selected properties - same message.
I recall seeing this occur in older version a long time ago but don't recall the fix.
I tried swapping profiles but it was no help.

possibly need a repair, usually fixes unknown command problems

Turn off the registery cleaners, do a repair of the installation. This will correct the problem.
The registry cleaners remove keys in the registry, that Acad uses to start up correctly.
What are registry cleaners?
Many of the anti viris, spam and spy ware programs have a section called computer maint. When you select this option; the program will allow you to select your registry to be cleaned. Make sure that box is not checked.
If you are running a registry management program, the same problem can occur.
All these programs are outside of the Acad files and work on your operating system.
When the registry on your computer is slected for clean up, the automatic scan will remove the files for autocad from the registry.
This is what I have found that causes the errors that you are having.
Also I experimented similar problem after installing Solid Works. In AutoCAD the Properties panel opened, but without any information in it.
It's nice to be nice, but sometimes is nicer to be evil!.

Thanks for everyone's help. I repaired the program and all is right with the world.
