Crash into 3d operation

You're referring to Press/Pull I believe.

Is the 2010 Update 1 installed?

When did the problem first occur?

Up until this point the command worked properly?

Is this the only drawing you're having problems with when using Press/Pull?

Has this happened in any other drawing you've tried to use Press/Pull in?

I suggest that before you go any further you consider downloading and installing Update 1 for AutoCAD 2010.

Maybe AutoCAD crashes as a result of bad geometry.

...the geometry is bad of the drawing

Attach the file here that is exhibiting this behavior. Does your system meet minimum specifications for 2010?

I'm running 2010 and I tried to replicate your problem but couldn't. Even if I used a combination of lines, arcs and polylines to create the 2D object the command would work as long as there were no gaps between endpoints. However, if there were the command would not work and I would be informed that 0 loops extracted, 0 Regions created but AutoCAD did not crash.

Follow JDM's advice and also answer his question.

I am trying to make a facade of tower out of it... a little bit like cone with an ellipse base...

I will attach the image of it

Is it maybe the template faults that I use from the university (attached also)

Where did everybody go??

My file must have crashed in everybodies computer

Have patience. We all have jobs and other responsibilities.

Some things I noticed about your drawing:

You have a lot of non co-planar lines. You might want to flatten your drawing so that all line endpoints have a Z0 value.

You have a lot of lines converging to the same point in the middle of the drawing. This may be the main problem.

You have some lines that are extending into open areas that need to be trimmed.

You have a lot of overlapping lines and arcs. Delete the duplicates.

One or all of the above issues may be causing the problem. When I tried to initiate the PRESSPULL command, my CPU Usage shot up to 50% and Autocad froze up.

Try cleaning up your drawing and give it another shot.

I was only joking about the fact that some may delay... No worries... I must thank u though Cad 64 I think it was the non co-planar lines now it is working so far so good (I was stupid to put some lines down in 3d mode). I have this deadline for tomorrows consultation

Sorry I was unable to look at your drawing and get back to you. It's that whole "work" thing I had to attend to. LOL

I see you are in good hands with Cad64 so I shall refrain from commenting. Just follow his advice and you should be fine.
