    Default Making a 2D drawing 3D

ok so what i'm trying to do is draw a small T-Bolt assembly about 1" by 1/2" in 3D in autocad. The way I was planning to go about this was to draw a front vew of the object and a top view then combine the objects into one and somehow convert that into 3D! Now does that seem right to you guys? Is there a way to do that? or must a 3D drawing be made in a completely different way? I really need help ASAP and would greatly appreciate it. If it is easier to explain my aim s/n is lendiggitylt

    Thanks in advance, Lenny

Sometime it pays to have the 2D drawn, as a guide for the 3D ... especially if you use the revolve process to generate the 3d objects.

Hi lenny. you do have the right idea for a model of a t'bolt. but
to make it 3d try this

First thing always read command line as u enter commands
( its there to help )

Draw a Rectangle (type rec then enter orbit so your not looking down on it but rather a a 3d view, type ext enter
select rec enter type in depth then enter hit enter again
( enter 2 times at this point as u dont want a taper)

Now draw a circle right in the middle of the rectangle.( the size u want)
Type ext then enter select circle enter type height u want and hit enter 2 times
    Job done.

Im off for a cup of tea now after all them ENTERS
USING AUTOCAD 2013 AND INVENTOR 2013, ALIAS 2013.

If in doubt scale and don't ask!
