javilu
Hi, I need to use Autocad 2006 in a Vista Home Premium notebook, and I install it perfectly, but when I try to activate it, I select "Enter registration code" and the application completely hangs when I click on "Next" and I have to close it using the task manager. I tried to do it in safe mode and failed too. I can't even get to enter the Activation code. Can anybody help me, please? I've read of many people who managed to activate it in Vista with no problem at all. Thanks a lot in advance Javi
ReMark
Were there any known problems running 2006 in a Vista OS?
ReMark
I just popped in over at AutoDesk and came across this: "AutoCAD 2009 is the first release of AutoCAD to be supported on Windows Vista Service Pack 1." Makes me wonder.
ReMark
1. I think you may have to run AutoCAD in XP compatibility mode. 2. You may also have to run the program as administrator.
javilu
1. I think you may have to run AutoCAD in XP compatibility mode. 2. You may also have to run the program as administrator. Hi Sir! First of all, thanks for responding and sorry for the double posting. I already did both things you suggested and the program opens. The problem as I explained is that the "Activate window" hungs up when I click on the "Next" button after selecting the "Enter activation code button". The only way of closing it then is from the task manager. Maybe I should change a dll? Thank you for your help and I hope you can find a way for me to activate it! Thanks, Javi
ReMark
These are some of the things AutoDsk recommends when dealing with a problem such as yours. If there is a firewall on your computer turn it off temporarily. Make sure your version of Windows is completely up-to-date. If you are running WinXP consider uninstalling Explorer 7 as it may cause problems during activation. Did you have another version of AutoCAD on this computer prior to installing the new version? If so, it should have been removed completely. You must be logged on as the Actual Administrator of your computer and not just have administrative rights. If you have beta versions of AutoDesk products on your computer they should be removed completely.
