I want to know if somebody tried to install an quadro fx driver on a computer with gtx videocard with the same gpu. gtx 295 driver 112 mb --> quadro fx 5800 driver 76,3 mb , if it runs, test the difference please

The point is obvious isn't it? Saving money? I have heard of this being done but it's not as simple as just installing drivers. There is some code that has to be changed as the Quadro drivers will look for a card with a Quadro BIOS.

AFAIK Autocard 2010 can now utilise DirectX, and performs better utilizing DirectX than openGL. This means a gaming card like a GTX295 will perform very well.

The only issue might be the SLI that exists within the GTX295. Autocad can not yet make use of more than one GPU so having more than one is pointless. I'm not sure if cards like the GTX295 or HD5970 are included but I imagine the problems will be similar...

Running an unsupported card and trying to do it with Quadro drivers probably won't work in my opinion.

I agree that running a GTX with Quadro drivers sounds like a massive waste of time. Just use the Geforce drivers it will still work great, plus you can game at 120FPS on your lunch break

Edit: I've checked on the Autodesk web page and the GTX295 is supported but not recommended. I would say this is because of it's internal SLI. The GTX280 is on there though and is supported and recommended. There is no info on the GTX275 or GTX285 though so not sure on those models. There is no info on the new ATI HD5000 series cards either although I have heard reports that they perform exceptionally well.
