cadgal
Hello I want to turn the dynamic input off in my drawing (it bugs me!). I think I have it off for the most part, but when I use the dist command (to measure something) it pops back on. Not sure if it's popping back on for any other commands yet, the few I tried it didn't. but I need it to not come on at all. Can anyone help me? thanks Mandi

cadgal
Thanks, it was set to -2, not sure what that means. I think I found my problem is that I was using the "distance" tool button on the annotation ribbon panel (gosh, that's confusing!) instead of typing "dist" and that particular button/whatever it's called now is a different command than just "dist". Ahh, ACAD 2010 - I do think I'm startign to hate you.
rkmcswain
-2 means it's OFF, but it's retaining the value of 2, in case it gets turned back on. I think the command you were using is MEASUREGEOM, not DIST. The former is the newer version of the DIST+AREA commands.
