Ok....now my Company has me looking at AutoCAD Architecture 2010. Can you all give me some insight on which program would be best for me/ us ? They are mainly wanting 3d renderings? But wanting a 3d rendering quick and up front. We usally do what we call Phase 1 drawings. Which in just a basic floor plan and elevations. Now they are wanting to throw in a 3d model in this phase to try and help "sale". But im trying to tell them that in order for the renderings to look right in revit you almost need to draw the entire building up front. Right? Which would be time comsuming. They are wanting it right away! Im so confused on which one to use my head is spinning. We aren't that big of a firm. There is only 1 CAD guy and thats me! We do a lot of pre-engineered buildings for build outs. We also do a lot of Conventional Building such as Dr Offices and Hotels. There are a lot of neat features Revit offers but its completely different that Autocad. They also want something that can be sent o Subcontractors and let them have the ablitly to open and work with our drawings as well. Please give me some advise so i know what to tell them which direction we should go.

Thanks!

Sounds like Autocad Architecture might fit you. Although as with Revit, to get the best out of the software, you would want to follow the BIM methodology and create the working drawings from your model. There is a steep learning curve coming into either program. The only thing that makes me suggest that ACA might fit, is your ability to give the file to sub contractors to view and modify, which probably means they are running some version of Autocad IE .dwg file extension, whereas Revit uses .RVT and looses information when exported to DWG
